Blackcats shut out host Sheldon Clark, 2-0

INEZ – Prestonsburg managed to shut out host Sheldon Clark 2-0 in a 57th District boys’ soccer game on Monday evening.

With the win, Prestonsburg improved to 5-9-0.

Sheldon Clark slipped to 1-11-0 with the loss.

Dean Andler and Nate Blackburn accounted for all of the Blackcats’ scoring, netting one goal apiece in the 57th District match.

Another Blackcat, Dalton Trusty, provided an assist on one of the visiting team’s two goals.

Defensively, Trusty held homestanding Sheldon Clark scoreless from his goalkeeper position.

Prestonsburg, under the direction of head coach Emily Rizzo, returned to the win column after suffering three consecutive losses.

Through 14 games, Prestonsburg has managed to outscore opponents 40-37.

Both Prestonsburg and Sheldon Clark will compete in the 57th District Boys’ Soccer Tournament in October.
