PRESTONSBURG – Dominating during its home finale, Prestonsburg blanked visiting Hazard 7-0 in a late0season girls’ high school soccer game on Tuesday.

Familiar rivals, Prestonsburg and Hazard hail from neighboring regions.

With the win, Prestonsburg improved to 15-1-2.

Hazard dropped to 3-12-1 with the loss.

Leading Prestonsburg to the convincing victory on its home field, Elizabeth Burchett scored a game-high four goals.

Prestonsburg featured four different scorers as Haley Fitzpatrick, Jillian Kidd and McKenzie Little netted one goal apiece.

Kidd and Makayla Ousley provided two assists apiece for the Lady Blackcats.

Aiding the Prestonsburg offensive attack, Haley Shepherd distributed one assist.

The Lady Blackcats excelled both offensively and defensively. Pacing the Lady Blackcats defensively, goalkeeper Hannah Stratton held Hazard scoreless.

Through 18 games, Prestonsburg has outscored opponents 78-12.

Prestonsburg was visiting Perry County Central for a regular season finale on Thursday evening. Results from the Prestonsburg-Perry County Central girls’ soccer game were unavailable at press time.
