The Rebels occupy the first-place spot in the Kentucky Volleyball Coaches Association (KVCA) 15th Region Top 5 Poll, which was released on Tuesday.

Allen Central is ranked ahead of rivals Paintsville (2), Betsy Layne (3), Pikeville (4) and East Ridge (5) in the poll.

The other top-ranked teams in regions across the state are McCracken County (1st Region), Christian County (2nd Region), Daviess County (3rd Region), South Warren (4th Region), Central Hardin (5th Region), Mercy Academy (6th Region), Sacred Heart (7th Region), North Oldham (8th Region), Notre Dame (9th Region), Scott (10th Region), Henry Clay (11th Region), West Jessamine (12th Region), North Laurel (13th Region), Letcher County Central (14th Region) and Raceland (16th Region).

Allen Central shut out visiting 15th Region foe Pike County Central 3-0 (25-7, 25-12, 25-8) on its annual Breast Cancer Awareness Night (Volleyball for the Cure) on Wednesday night.

The Rebels have regular season matches remaining versus Hazard (Oct. 10), Paintsville (Oct. 11) and Johnson Central (Oct. 13).
