HI HAT – Chad Hall is one of the busiest coaches in the 15th Region. Prior to guiding the South Floyd track and field program in the spring and serving as an assistant with the Raider baseball team, Hall was chosen to become the school’s new football head coach. In addition to his football squad and track and field program, Hall will guide the South Floyd baseball team.
Hall succeeds Donnie Daniels as head coach in both football and baseball. He previously guided the Allen Central baseball program as its head coach.
The South Floyd baseball squad concluded the 2014 season 5-20 after falling to eventual champion Prestonsburg in the first round of the 58th District Baseball Tournament.
South Floyd, Prestonsburg, Allen Central and Betsy Layne make up the 58th District. The remainder of the 15th Region baseball field features defending champion Lawrence County, Johnson Central, Paintsville, Magoffin County, Belfry, Pike County Central, Pikeville, Sheldon Clark, Shelby Valley, East Ridge and Phelps.
In track and field, South Floyd competes in Class A, District 7, along with Allen Central, Betsy Layne, Breathitt County, Buckhorn, Cordia, East Ridge, Elliott County, Fairview, Hazard, Jackson City, Jenkins, June Buchanan, Lee County, Magoffin County, Menifee County, Morgan County, Owsley County, Paintsville, Phelps, Piarist, Pikeville, Prestonsburg, Raceland, Riverside Christian, Rose Hill Christian, Shelby Valley, Sheldon Clark, West Carter and Wolfe County.
Hall will coach many South Floyd male student-athletes in multiple sports.
On the gridiron, Hall will guide South Floyd in its season-opener versus visiting Betsy Layne on Aug. 21.
