EASTERN – The Allen Central High School boys’ basketball program performed well over the summer season. But Allen Central’s latest summer season didn’t come without a casualty. Senior forward Seth Hall, the leading rebounder and second-leading scorer for Allen Central during the 2014-15 season, tore his ACL in early-June and isn’t expected to be back for the Rebels until at least December or January.
Hall averaged 16.8 points and a team-high 7.5 rebounds per game for the Rebels during the 2014-15 campaign.
Other players due back for the Rebels are seniors Bailey Wright (5.5 ppg, 3.2 rpg) and Brett Sammons (5.3 ppg, 2.5 rpg) and sophomore Dylan Caudill (2.8 ppg, 3.3 rpg)
Allen Central, under the direction of veteran head coach Brad Short, concluded the 2014-15 season 13-18. The Rebels finished runner-up to South Floyd in the 58th District last season.
Seniors Zack Laton and Zack Clark, sophomores Cameron Nelson and Cody Slone and eighth-grader Ethan Smith are also expected to contribute for the Rebels during the upcoming campaign.
Short and his team will begin preseason practice in mid-October.
The Allen Central boys’ basketball program has not yet finalized and released its 2015-16 schedule.
