MOREHEAD – The South Floyd High School football team, under the direction of first-year head coach Chad Hall, attended camp at Morehead State University Friday-Sunday.
“Our time at MSU for camp was a great experience for our team,” Hall said. “The players worked very hard and pushed beyond their limits. The passion and drive to excel this group of young men has shown impresses me. The players and coaching staff have developed a bond that will last a lifetime. We were able to get some quality work and reps in at camp. Each workout helped us find areas we need to improve in and strengths to build on.”
Hall rewarded his team with a day off on Monday.
“This group has given an all out effort,” Hall added. “They have impressed me with their work effort.”
Hall took over for longtime South Floyd head coach Donnie Daniels and inherited a squad which finished the 2014 season one game below the .500 mark.
South Floyd compiled a 5-6 record in 2014 after falling to former state runner-up Fairview in the opening round of the Class 1A Russell Athletic/KHSAA Commonwealth Gridiron Bowl.
Hall, his coaching staff and players will meet fans and be available for members of the media during Meet the Raiders on Aug. 14.
South Floyd will travel to Powell County for its only preseason scrimmage on Aug. 15.
