HI HAT – Three members of the South Floyd football team have earned preseason honors from The Cats’ Pause. South Floyd senior quarterback/linebacker Hunter Johnson, junior halfback/safety James Little and sophomore halfback/safety Roger Tackett are listed as Class A, District 8 Players to Watch in The Cats’ Pause 2015 Kentucky Football Yearbook.
Little ranked as South Floyd’s third-leading ground gainer in 2014, rushing 81 times for 522 yards and four touchdowns. The productive Little ranked third on South Floyd’s rushing list behind Darren Tackett and Jacob Meade, each of whom rushed for over 800 yards,.
Johnson, South Floyd’s experienced signal-caller, completed 42 of 74 passes for 607 yards and seven touchdowns.
Aiding the South Floyd offensive attack, Tackett rushed 22 times for 206 yards and four touchdowns.
Pikeville senior tailback Daric Pugh has been named the Preseason Class A, District 8 Player of the Year.
Despite suffering an injury and playing in only 10 of his team’s 12 games in 2014, Pugh rushed for 1,454 yards and 24 touchdowns.

Vanderbeck (Pikeville, Sr., WR/S).
