Ocie Viola Martin Hamilton Alley, age 89, of Grethel, KY., wife of the late Melvin Hamilton and Orris Alley, passed away Saturday, February 13, 2016 at the Pikeville Medical Center, Pikeville, KY. She was born September 18, 1926 in Galveston, KY., a daughter of the late John and Cora Adkins Martin. She graduated from Betsy Layne High School in 1945. She was a member of the Boldman Freewill Baptist Church, was General Manager for Rich Oil Co., a clerk at Murphy Mart and a former employee of US Shoe. She had a heart of gold and made all her family feel special. Her angelic spirit will be forever loved and remembered.

She is survived by two daughters; Cora Hamilton (Mark) Fisher, Springfield, OH., Glenna Adkins (Lewis) Berkhimer, Paintsville, KY., five sons; John (Patricia) Hamilton, Pikeville, KY., Larry (Edith) Hamilton, Grethel, KY., Gary (Beulah) Hamilton, Lorain, OH., Melvin Hamilton Jr., Prestonsburg, KY. Timothy Hamilton, Pikeville, KY., one step son; Robert (Tammy) Alley, Obetz, OH., 18 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren and 10 great-great grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by one son; Paul Richard Hamilton, four brothers; Paul, Bobby, Noah and Andrew Martin, four sisters; Clara Hamilton, Lucille Newsome, Betty Jo Rucks, Mary Ann Martin and two special nephews; Ronald and Donald Conley.

She was a classy, smart, strong woman and loving mother. She was beautiful inside and out.

Funeral service were conducted Thursday, February 18, 2016 in the Boldman Freewill Baptist Church, Harold, KY., with Belmont Johnson officiating. Burial followed in the Sill Hamilton Cemetery, Harold, KY., Visitation was held after 5 p.m. Tuesday, and Wednesday at the church, with services each evening.
