Florence “Shug” Martin Music, 95, of Prestons-burg, died Thursday, October 21, 2010, at her residence.

Born Septem-ber 26, 1915, in Milburn, West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Cary Newton Martin and Ina Pearl Bales Martin. She was a homemaker and member of the First Presbyterian Church, a Honorary member of Women’s Fellowship; a lifetime member of Eastern Star Adah Chapter No. 24, a charter member of PEO Chapter G and Kiwannians.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Music, on May 8, 1990.

Survivors include one son, Marvin Music, Jr. (Ella Faye) of Prestonsburg and one brother, Clarence Martin (Emma Lou) of Prestonsburg; three grandchildren: Marvin Music III “Trey”, Tia Anderson and Brent Music; five great-grandchildren: Alauna, Grant and Shane Anderson, Darby and Laurn Music.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Carrie Wilmer and a brother, Paul Martin.

Funeral services were held Sunday, October 24, at 2 p.m., at the First Presbyterian Church, with Rev. Vicki Poole officiating.

Entombment was in the Mayo Cemetery, in Pres-tonsburg.

The family has entrusted arrangements to the Carter Funeral Home.
