DANA A call to Kentucky State Police tipping officers to a residence in Dana led to the recovery of more than 40 marijuana plants and other items used in the cultivation of marijuana over the weekend.
State police received the call Friday and, following up on the tip, sent Det. Mitchell Adkins along with Troopers Chris Hicks and Blake Frasure to the home, located along Boyd Road in Dana.
After a first search turned up 42 pot plants in an active grow well, at the home, the detective and two officers later found an outbuilding on the property they said contained materials used in the cultivation, which were immediately confiscated.
Police did not release the name of the homeowner or the name or names of anyone who might have been leasing the property.
However, the case is now being investigated by the KSP Narcotics Unit and police say charges are pending.
