Born February 1, 1944, in Dwale, he was the son of the late Payne and Fannie Flair Blanton. He was a retired coordinator for Ford Motor Company.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Miller Blanton.
He is survived by one son: MIchael (Wendy) Blanton of Oil Springs; one daughter: Dawn (Jason) Blanton Hartman of Columbus, Ohio; one brother: Ellis Wayne Blanton of Morristown, Tennessee; and two grandchildren: Andrew Joseph Hartman and Nicholas Stephen Hartman.
Funeral services were held January 9 at Nelson Frazier Funeral Home in Martin with Mearl Music officiating.
Burial was at Highlands Memorial Part in Staffordsville.
