Born April 18, 1956, in Floyd County, he was the son of the late Fred and Kathryn Slone Johnson and the husband of Christiane Adams Johnson. He was a disabled heavy equipment operator.
He is survived by sons; Fred Johnson, Richmond, Ky., William Matthew Johnson, Irvin, Ky., daughters: Amanda Gail Johnson, Kings Port, Tennessee, Michelle Brooke Spurlock, Irvin, Ky., brothers: Larry Johnson, Auxier, Ky., Ricky Johnson, Allen, Ky., Mark Johnson, Prestonsburg, Ky., Gary Ray Johnson, David, Ky., Donnie Johnson, Prestonsburg, Ky, sisters: Mary Lynn Hughes, and Rose Branham, both of Prestonsburg, Ky., grandchildren; alexis, Cameron, Jalin, Dominick, Benjamin, Elizabeth.
Funeral services will be conducted on May 3, 2011, at 1 p.m. at Nelson Frazier Funeral Home in Martin with Paul Castle officiating.
Burial will follow at Johnson Family Cemetery at Middlecreek.
Nelson Frazier Funeral Home will be in charge of funeral arrangements.
