EASTERN – Allen Central senior first baseman Sarah Kinney made her college choice official on Wednesday morning, signing with the University of Pikeville softball program.

Kinney ranks as one of Eastern Kentucky’s top softball players. Through 22 games, Kinney is batting .557 with 34 hits, 10 of which are doubles. Kinney has hit two home runs and recorded 21 RBI in 61 at-bats for the Lady Rebels.

“Sarah is a great student, player, and person,” Allen Central Coach Don Burke commented. “The University of Pikeville has gotten a great player and an even better student. She has led us for years in hitting and defense. Sarah and Shea (Spurlock) are some of the finest young ladies I have had the privilege of coaching.”
