The Prestonsburg High School Class of 1959 held a reunion at the Holiday Inn, in Prestonsburg, on July 16 & 17, 2004. The classmates met in the inn's hospitality room to greet one another and share memories of past good times. They breakfasted at Billy Ray's Restaurant , had dinner at the Holiday Inn with Charles Earl Akers serving as Master of Ceremonies, enjoying 50's music and dancing, and attended a KY Opry show at the Mountain Arts Center. Dinner and dance music was provided by Larry Short and Judy Burks Short.

Marty May Hicks read "Remember Me," a poem, and Harold Cooley spoke of the special friendship between the class members. Klora Lafferty Osborne decorated a memorial table honoring deceased classmates. The memorial table was adorned with red roses and white candles. Deceased members of the PHS Class of 1959 include: Judee Howard Carter, Delbert Blair, Lloyd Blair, John Burchett, Willie Burchett, Victor Calhoun, Glenda Cesco, Loretta Cooley, Patricia Cooley, Tommy Dawson, Rosemary Gray, Jerry Hackworth, Lloyd Hackworth, Charles "Togo" Harris, Bobby Gene Howell, Delmar Lafferty, James Lafferty Jr., Charlene Mitchell, Charles Ousley, Willie Ousley, Kathryn Parker Poe, William "Bucky" Rose, Fred Saunders, Randy Wallen, and Judith Woods Wright.
