Charles Tackett, 69, of Stanford, passed away Sunday, June 26, 2005, at his home.

Born in Floyd County, on December 25, 1935, he was the son of the late Jim and Lillie Newsom Tackett.

He is survived by his spouse, Eulavene Akers Tackett.

He was an Old Regular Baptist preacher and a carpenter, and was the pastor of Little Pilgrim Rock Old Regular Baptist Church, in Waynesburg.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a son, Charles Dean Tackett of Paintsville; two daughters: Joan Compton of Stanford, and Debbie Keathley of Danville; two brothers: James Tackett of Moreland, and Grant Tackett of Waynesburg; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by five brothers and three sisters.

Services were held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, June 28, at Little Pilgrim Rock Old Regular Baptist Church, in Waynesburg, with Aaron Elisha Branham, Larry Newsom and Ralph Jr. Slone officiating.

Burial was in the Goodhope Cemetery, under the direction of Barnett & Demrow Funeral Home, Waynesburg.

Visitation was at the funeral home.
