Ruby Gearheart Smith, 73, resident of Willard, Ohio, passed away on Friday morning, July 1, 2005, at Willard Mercy Hospital. She was born March 26, 1932, in Hueysville, the daughter of the late Frank and Mildred (Ratliff) Gearheart, and had been a Willard resident since 1954. She was a homemaker, and enjoyed gardening and quilting. She is survived by her husband, Ray Smith, whom she married June 29, 1955; one son and daughter-in-law, Ken and Tammy Smith of Willard; one daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Jim Funk of Willard; a grandson, Benjamin Funk; a granddaughter, Shelby Smith; six sisters: Violet Ward of Illinois; Garnett Leveridge of North Carolina; Verna Baldridge of Hilliard, Velma Morgan of New Jersey; Alma Sawyer of Michigan, and Gypsie Jones of Prestonsburg; one brother, Albert Gearheart of Michigan; and numerous other relatives. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Jeanette Sparkman; two brothers: Carl Gayheart and Chester Gearheart; two half-brothers: Haig Gayheart and Herman Gayheart. Burial was in Maple Grove Cemetery, in New Haven, Ohio.
