She was born March 26, 1932, in Hueysville, the daughter of the late Frank and Mildred (Ratliff) Gearheart, and had been a Willard resident since 1954. She was a homemaker, and enjoyed gardening and quilting.
She is survived by her husband, Ray Smith, whom she married June 29, 1955; one son and daughter-in-law, Ken and Tammy Smith of Willard; one daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Jim Funk of Willard; a grandson, Benjamin Funk; a granddaughter, Shelby Smith; six sisters: Violet Ward of Illinois; Garnett Leveridge of North Carolina; Verna Baldridge of Hilliard, Velma Morgan of New Jersey; Alma Sawyer of Michigan, and Gypsie Jones of Prestonsburg; one brother, Albert Gearheart of Michigan; and numerous other relatives.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Jeanette Sparkman; two brothers: Carl Gayheart and Chester Gearheart; two half-brothers: Haig Gayheart and Herman Gayheart.
Burial was in Maple Grove Cemetery, in New Haven, Ohio.
