Upon pulling over the truck, officer Justice observed the passenger, Mitchell D. Scale, hide something in the back seat which turned out to be prescription pain pills. The officer also noted that Scale had a noticeable blue residue around his nose.
According to arrest documents, Scale was charged with public intoxication, tampering with physical evidence, possession of a controlled substance and first-degree trafficking a controlled substance.
The driver, Jimmy D. Naylor, of Virgie, was arrested for operating a motor vehicle under the influence of drugs, operating commercial motor vehicle under the influence of drugs, first-degree possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
