Chloe Hurd, 5, of Pikeville, received 2,816 votes to win the contest.
“It was no big surprise,” said Jessica Hurd, Chloe’s mother. “She’s my daughter, so I guess I’m biased.”
Hurd said she wasn’t even aware there was a prize for winning the contest.
“I just saw the ad online,” Hurd said. “I thought she would get her picture in the paper.”
Hurd will receive a check for $250 sponsored by Highlands Regional Medical Center.
“That money will go straight to her savings account,” Hurd said.
Voting for the contest began June 1.
