Lizzie Jane B. McIntosh Evans Thornsbury, 96, died Feb. 6, 2012, in Franklin, Ind.

She was born on Feb. 2, 1916, to the late William Birchfield Burke and Louise Johnson Burke.

She was the wife of the late Dave McIntosh, Herb Evans and Boyd Thornsbury. She was a homemaker and a member of Joppa Old Regular Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Hazel Griffin; two grandchildren; three brothers, Major Burke, Boles Burke and Hillard Burke; and six sisters, Arkansa Hudson, Ollie Tackett, Marcella Meade, Mary Alice Burke, Rhoda Burke and Icie Burke.

She is survived by her sons, John Robert McIntosh, of Van Lear, Charles Ervin McIntosh, of Bonita Springs, Fla., David L. McIntosh, of Hernando, Fla., and Donald C. McIntosh, of Whiteman, Ind.; daughters, Lucille Abbott, of Ninevah, Ind., Jeroma Miller, of Franklin, Ind., and Dorothy McIntosh, of Vince, Fla.; and one brother, Robert Burke, of Virgie.

Funeral services were held Thursday Feb. 9, at Joppa Old Regular Baptist Church. Burial followed the service at Poplar Grove Cemetery in Weeksbury.

Nelson Frazier Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
