PRESTONSBURG - In May, students from Carl D. Perkins Job Corps Center and others were instrumental in helping to make the Pop’s Chevrolet Arm Drop Drags a success. Prestonsburg Motorsports and the Arm Drop Nation have been busy preparing to host the latest Pop’s Chevrolet Arm Drop Drags in early-July. But on Saturday, the Arm Drop Nation took time to recognize and give thanks to those who helped to help to make the May edition of the Arm Drop Drags such a success. Many gathered at Kent Rose Service Center AKA Arm Drop Garage for a cookout that also included entertainment.
“We wanted to show our appreciation to everyone,” Arm Drop Drags official Kent Rose said. “So many help to make this possible. We are Arm Drop Nation.”
Prestonsburg Mayor Jerry Fannin was also in attendance at the event, which featured a performance from Country Music Highway Road to Fame winner Logan Hall and food from Pig N A Poke.
The Pop’s Chevrolet Arm Drop Drags will be held on July 7 at Combs Airport on Rt. 321 between Prestonsburg and Paintsville. Grudges races are on tap for next weekend.
The upcoming drag racing event will also feature cash and prizes.
Sponsors for the Pop’s Chevrolet Arm Drop Drags are Honda of Prestonsburg, Paintsville Tourism, City of Prestonsburg, Kelly’s Radiator Service, Freedom Ford and Food City.
