EASTERN - Allen Central came up empty on the road last week, falling to host Jenkins in a season-opener. Rejuvenated Jenkins, under the guidance of first-year head coach Eric Ratliff, claimed its second straight win, defeating the Rebels 38-16.


With the loss, Allen Central opened the 0-1.


Allen Central will host Leslie County tonight. The Eagles are 1-1 following a 38-22 victory over Magoffin County last week. Scott beat the Eagles in Week 0.


Leslie County features a talented signal-caller. Senior quarterback Ethan Horton threw five touchdown passes and racked up around 350 yards for Leslie County in the victory over the visiting Hornets. Horton passed for over 2,000 yards as a junior during the 2011 season.


The Eagles owned multiple leads in the non-district matchup versus Magoffin County.


Several Leslie County receivers got involved offensively.


Eric Hubbard caught a team-high two touchdown passes for the Eagles. Stefan Lewis, Chase Hoskins and Jarred Feltner each had one touchdown reception for Leslie County in the home game.


Blake Bray rushed for a touchdown in Leslie County’s victory.


Defensively, Leslie County caused two Magoffin County turnovers. Gabe Lewis recovered a fumble and Sandlin registered an interception for the Eagles.


Jenkins will be looking to go 3-0 tonight here in Floyd County. South Floyd (0-1) will host Jenkins.


In another area game, Prestonsburg will visit Lawrence County.


Betsy Layne is off tonight.


Kickoff for each of the three games involving Floyd County teams is set for 7:30 p.m.
