CHARLOTTE, N.C. - A local woman is attending the Democratic National Convention, preparing to cast her ballot in the Presidential nomination process.

The Convention is Canterbury’s fifth, and she says. She said she voted for Clinton and Dole at her first convention in 1996.

“My favorite convention was in Boston in 2004,” Canterbury said. “That city just has so much history. But I always have so much fun.”

Toni’s daughter, Paula Gillman, accompanied to the current convention, which Toni says will be her last due to health concerns.

“There are things to do every day and every night,” Toni said. “There are luncheons and after parties, we definately go to those!”

Toni Canterbury is a Kentucky State Delegate. She currently serves as Vice Chair of the Pike County Democrat Executive Committee, member of Pike County Housing Committee, and serves on Pike County Board of Elections.
