BELFRY - The Prestonsburg girls’ soccer team returned to the win column on Tuesday, doubling up host Belfry 4-2.
With the win, Prestonsburg improved to 10-9.
Katie Porter led the way for the Lady Blackcats. Porter, a sophomore forward, paced Prestonsburg with a game-high four goals.
Caitlin Kidd and Jackie Kidd each had one assist for the Lady Blackcats.
Defensively, Prestonsburg goalkeeper Autumn Hall halted numerous Belfry scoring attempts. Hall held Belfry to two goals.
Belfry dropped to 8-9-1 after suffering the loss.
Prestonsburg was hosting Hazard in a regular-season finale at press time Thursday evening. The Prestonsburg-Hazard match ended too late to make this edition.
Currently ranked third in the 15th Region standings, Prestonsburg will play Hazard at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday in the opening round of the 57th District Tournament.
