HI HAT - Rejuvenated Allen Central will look to notch its second straight win on the road tonight against a familiar foe. Class A, District 8 rival South Floyd awaits the Rebels. South Floyd has dropped four straight games after opening the season 2-1.

Last week, Allen Central, under the direction of head coach Jeremy Hall, worked its way into the win column with a hard-fought 22-20 victory over Class A, District 8 opponent Phelps. With the win, Allen Central improved to 1-6. Allen Central’s six-game losing streak at the start of the season consisted of losses to non-district foes Jenkins, Leslie County, Betsy Layne, Paintsville, Williamsburg and Pineville.

Opponents have outscored the young Rebels 277-66.

Following a season-opening loss to former district foe Betsy Layne, South Floyd defeated Jenkins and Knott County Central.

Since defeating Knott County Central 54-20, South Floyd has fell to Morgan County, Shelby Valley, Bracken County and Class A, District 8 frontrunner Pikeville.

Allen Central edged South Floyd when the two teams met last season, slipping past the Raiders 36-34.

In other area games tonight it will be Hannan, W.Va. at Betsy Layne; East Ridge at Grundy, Va.; Belfry at Lawrence County; Shelby Valley at Leslie County; Boyd County at Magoffin County; Breathitt County at Morgan County; Nicholas County at Paintsville; Letcher County Central at Perry County Central; Phelps at Pikeville and Johnson Central at Rowan County.

Kickoff for the Allen Central-South Floyd game is set for 7:30 p.m.
