Burl Jackson Whitt, 85, of Prestonsburg, husband of Carol Napier Whitt, died Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2012, at Highlands Regional Medical Center.

Born May 2, 1927, at Stone Coal, to the late Troy and Kate DeRossett Whitt, he was a retired phamacist, U.S. Air Force veteran and a disc jockey in the Air Force.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Leo Whitt, of Louisville, and Desmond Whitt, of Pleasanton, Calif.; a daughter, Bernadette Lynn Roberts, of Kissimmee, Fla.; two sisters, Mae Moore, of Elyria, Ohio, and Rebecca Jarrell, of Prestonsburg; and a grandson, Jason Roberts.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Billy Ray Whitt, and two sisters, Viola Hurd and Stella Hall.

Funeral services for Burl Jackson Whitt will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 3, at Nelson Frazier Funeral Home, in Martin, with Phillip Ramey officiating.

Visitation will be held after 6 p.m., Thursday, and all day Friday, at the funeral home.

Nelson Frazier Funeral Home, of Martin, is in charge of arrangements.
