CAMPBELLSVILLE – Four starters reached double figures as No. 11 Campbellsville University knocked off the University of Pikeville 91-60 Thursday night at the Powell Athletics Center.

Campbellsville (3-1) shot 49.1 percent from the field and went 30-of-37 from the free-throw line in the win. Pikeville, on the other hand, shot 41.1 percent from the field but was only 10-of-14 from the stripe.

The Lady Tigers dominated the glass, picking up 16 offensive rebounds en route to a 42-29 edge on the night.

The game was much closer than the final score indicated, as Pikeville was within eight early in the second half. A bucket by freshman Peyton Wright with 12:39 to play pulled the Bears back within 13 at 54-41, but from there Campbellsville took complete control of the game.

Senior Mackenzie Lee and junior Chelsea Craig led all scorers with 15 points each. Craig had seven rebounds to lead her team.

Senior Courtney Clifton scored 12 while sophomore Daizah Kimberland was 6-of-6 from the line for 10 points.

After Wright’s 13 markers, four Bears – senior Sally Roberts, junior Callisha Johnson and sophomores Natalie Tunnell and Whitney Belle Jackson – had six points each.
