HI HAT - South Floyd running back Weston Little excelled throughout his senior season - especially on the ground. One of the state’s top high school running backs, Little has been named the Class A, District 8 Player of the Year by the Kentucky Football Coaches Association.
During his senior season, Little rushed 260 times for 2,315 yards and 31 touchdowns.
Little led South Floyd in both rushing and receiving. The South Floyd senior hauled in 13 catches for a team-high 219 yards and two touchdowns.
Little also led South Floyd in interceptions (two) and registered 35 tackles.
South Floyd, under the tutelage of veteran head coach Donnie Daniels, finished the 2012 season 5-6 following a loss to Nicholas County in the opening round of the Class A State Playoffs. The Raiders ended the regular-season as the runner-up behind Pikeville in Class A, District 8.
Pikeville head coach Chris McNamee has been named the Class A, District 8 Coach of the Year by the Kentucky Football Coaches Association. Pikeville exited the season 7-6 after falling to Fairview in the Region 4 championship game.
