Terry Strong, 51, of Ashland, formerly of Long Fork of Virgie, passed away Sunday, Dec. 23, 2012, at the Community Hospice Care Center, in Ashland.

He was born July 12, 1961, in Floyd County, to the late Hatler and Bessie Tackett Strong.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Glen Everett Strong; a sister, Judith Ann Holbrook; and a niece, Tiffany Marie Wilson.

Survivors include a brother, Tommy Strong, of Ashland; a sister, Sandra Kay Wilson, of Ashland; four nieces; two nephews; one great niece; and two great nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, at the Wheelwright Freewill Baptist Church, with Vernon Johnson and others officiating. Burial will follow in the Brian Tackett Cemetery, at Hi Hat.

Visitation will be at the Wheelwright Freewill Baptist Church, Thursday, with a service at 7 p.m.
