Halmer Harris, 80, of Bevinsville, died Sunday, Dec. 30, 2012, at his residence.

He was born Oct. 28, 1932, in Knott County, to the late Johnny and Susan Shepherd Harris. He was a coal miner and member of the Old Regular Baptist Church. He was the husband of Gracie Johnson Harris.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Palmer Harris and Elmer Harris.

He is survived by two sons, Tim Harris, of Versailles, and Randle Harris, of Bevinsville; a daughter, Trena Flanery, of Bevinsville; two sisters, Miona Hall and Leona Hall, of Topmost; eight grandchildren, Stephen, Justin, Destiny, Caiden, Whitney, Jaylyn, Christopher Dane and Brooke; and one great grandson, Liam.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2013, at Little Rock Old Regular Baptist Church, at Bevinsville. Burial followed the service at the Johnson Family Cemetery (Frozen), at Bevinsville.

Nelson Frazier Funeral Home, of Martin, was in charge of arrangements.
