Eagles fall short versus Point Park

PIPPA PASSES - Visiting Point Park pulled off a hard-fought victory over Alice Lloyd on Friday, defeating the Eagles 80-74 at the Grady Nutt Athletic Center.
Point Park led by as many as 14 points in the opening half before settling for a 43-33 lead at halftime.
The Pioneers started fast in the second half, opening on a 7-1 run. Point Park led 63-46 with 10 minutes remaining. Homestanding Alice Lloyd, however, managed to battle back.
When Alice Lloyd guard Isaac Wilson connected on a drive to the hoop with one minute left on the clock, the deficit was only three (73-70).
ALC had no choice but to foul to stop the clock. Unfortunately for the home team, Point Park sank four free throws to pad its cushion.
Guard Gabe McNeal led Point Park (7-6 overall, 3-4 KIAC) with 22 points.
For the Eagles (7-8 overall, 1-2 KIAC), Wilson led the way with 16 points. Tyler Rogers added 15 points for the Alice Lloyd men’s basketball team in the loss.
