PIPPA PASSES - Nationally-ranked Indiana University Southeast faced plenty of resistance before pulling away in the final nine minutes to defeat host Alice Lloyd on Saturday at the Grady Nutt Athletic Center.

In the first half, guard Tyler Rogers led Alice Lloyc out to a 13-10 lead. The experienced Grenadiers, however, closed the half on a 22-10 run to lead 32-23 at intermission.

IUS opened the second half on a 12-3 run in just three minutes and led 44-26 following the offensive outburst. Over the next eight minutes, Alice Lloyd went on a 21-8 run to find itself within five (52-47). But the visiting team regrouped. Defensively, IUS held the Eagles to just nine points the remainder of the game to earn the win.

Jake Simpson paced IUS (13-3 overall, 3-0 KIAC) with 19 points.

For ALC (7-9 overall, 1-3 KIAC), Rogers tied for game-high honors with 19 points. Guard Stuart Stamper added 15 points for the Eagles.
