EASTERN - Allen Central posted its second straight win on Monday night, defeating 14th Region member Riverside Christian 78-12 at J.E. Campbell Arena.
With the win, Allen Central improved to 5-11. The Rebels had defeated 58th District/Floyd County Conference rival Piarist School 69-45 three days earlier.
Remaining winless, Riverside Christian dropped to 0-21.
Eleven different players provided scoring for the Brad Short-coached Allen Central Rebels. Senior forward Josh Wiley paced Allen Central with a game-high 16 points, outscoring visiting Riverside Christian, himself. Sophomore guard Dillon Lawson joined Wiley in double figures, adding 10 points for the Rebels.
Allen Central scored first and never trailed. The Rebels boasted a commanding lead at the end of each quarter, eventually winning easily over Riverside Christian.
Other scorers for Allen Central were Devon Horn (eight points), Junior Handshoe (six points), Brett Samons (six points), Zach Layton (six points), Cameron Hamilton (four points), Bailey Wright (four points), Jared Hamilton (four points) and Aaron Hoover (two points).
The Allen Central and Riverside Christian boys’ basketball teams are not scheduled to meet again this season. Allen Central has three 14th Region foes left on its 2012-13 regular-season schedule. In February, Allen Central will visit 14th Region Members Jenkins (Feb. 5), Jackson City (Feb. 9) and Knott County Central (Feb. 13).
