FRANKFORT - Pikeville fell in the opening round of the Boys’ Touchstone Energy All “A” Classic on Thursday as Louisville Holy Cross held on to win 65-60 Thursday night at Frankfort Civic Center.
Clutch free throw shooting propelled Holy Cross to the win. Dominique Mack was four of five from the free-throw line in the fourth quarter to clinch the first-ever win for Holy Cross at the All “A” Classic.
Two Holy Cross players logged double-doubles. Mack paced the Cougars (6-15) with 24 points and 14 rebounds. Jack Schmidt added 23 total points and 11 rebounds for Holy Cross in the win.
Senior Ray Kasongo, a transfer from East Ridge, paced 15th Region All “A” Classic champion Pikeville with 32 points and 14 rebounds.
Pikeville remains a contender for the overall 15th Region championship.
