PRESTONSBURG — Valentine’s Day is already past, but St. Joseph Martin is joining with the American Heart Association in hopes of touching a few women’s hearts this week.
The hospital will be hosting its annual “Go Red for Women” event at noon, Friday, in the Wilkinson Stumbo Convention Center, at Jenny Wiley State Resort Park.
The event was planned to coincide with American Heart Month and will place a spotlight on the benefits of nutrition and exercise for women’s heart health, as well as diabetes prevention and management.
Internist Dr. Nida Mateen will be the featured speakers at the event. St. Joseph Martin President Kathy Stumbo will also be speaking.
Lunch is free with attendance, and while the event is geared towards women’s heart health, men are also welcome to attend.
