Wilford “Boots” Jarrell, age 71 of Dana, husband of Connie Sue Boyd Jarrell, passed away Tuesday, March 12, 2103, at Highlands Regional Medical Center, in Prestonsburg.

He was born April 26, 1941, at Dana, a son of the late Edward B. and Verlie Kidd Jarrell.

In addition to his wife, Boots is survived by three sons, Vince (Rella) Jarrell, Jack (Jessica) Jarrell, and Johnny Jarrell, all of Dana; two step-children, Lewis Boyd and Elizabeth Collins, both of Grethel; three brothers, Dennis Jarrell, of Frankfort, Jim Jarrell, of Willard, Ohio, and Kelly Jarrell, of Wakeman, Ohio; five sisters, Nellie Hall, of Printer, Emma Case, of Dana, Stella Shultz, of Michigan, Ann Cummins, of Frankfort, and Lois Cummins, of Frankfort; four grandchildren, Kory, Chatlin, Savannah and Hannah; and a special nephew, Dwight Jarrell, of Teaberry.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Charles Jarrell.

Funeral services for Wilford “Boots” Jarrell will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, March 15, at the Little Salem Old Regular Baptist Church, at Dana, with Ronnie Samons, Dennis Ray Akers and Darrell Newsome officiating. Burial will follow in the Boyd-Kidd Cemetery, at Dana. Visitation will be held all day Thursday at the church, with services nightly at 7 p.m.
