Jesse James Hale, 75, of Canton, Mich., died Friday May 31, 2013 in Ann Arbor, Mich. He was born November 16 1937 to the late R.B. Hale and Virgie Castle Hicks Hale. He was the husband of Joyce Aileen Shepherd.
He was a Member of the Regular Baptist Church in Ypsilanti, Michigan, In life his occupation was that of a Retired Teacher, where he taught public school for 35 years in Detroit, Mich. Jessie graduates from the following Colleges: Eastern Kentucky College with a Bachelor’s Degree, Eastern Michigan University with a Master Degree, Ypsilanti, Mich. Jesse served in the United States Air Force, He was stationed at the following Air Force Bases, Lakeland Air Force Base, Texas, Bunker Hill Peru Indiana, Scott Air Force Base, Ill. Amarillo Air Force Base, Texas.
Along with his parents, Jesse was preceded in death by four brothers: Joe Wheeler Hale, Roy Hicks, Lindburg Hale, and Ellis Shepherd.
He was survived by one son: Brian Hale of Canton, Mich. one brother, Ruben Hale, Hope, Ky, Three Sisters: Bonnie Crisp, Banner, Ky. Charity Hardy, Scottsdale, Ariz. Opal Hale, Canton, Mich
Funeral services were held Tuesday June 4 1:00 p.m. at Nelson Frazier Funeral Home in Martin with Jerry Manns officiating. Burial followed the service at Shepherd Cemetery in Gunlock.
