Glen Stanley Layne, 82, of Greensboro, North Carolina, died Wednesday, May 20, 2009, at Moses Cone Memorial Hospital. He was born November 2, 1926, in Betsy Layne, the son of the late Robert Clyde and Ella Stanley Layne. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was retired from ITT Federal Electric, as an electrical engineer. He was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church; the Guilford College Civitan Club, where he was treasurer, and past-president; and for the past three years, had volunteered filing taxes. Survivors include his wife, Chris Layne; two daughters: Amy Morehouse and her husband Anthony, Toni Plummer and her husband Clyde; two sons: George Wilson Sr., and his wife Kathy of Brown Summit, and John Wilson and his wife Judy of Melbourne, Florida; a brother, Ed Layne and his wife Sandy of Atlanta, Georgia; seven grandchildren: Rodney Johnson and his wife Christina, Glen Paul Johnson and his wife Holly, Jackie Morehouse, Eric Morehouse, George Wilson Jr., Amanda Rivard, and Nickolas Wilson; and eight great-grandchildren: Claudia, Izabella and Zachry Johnson, Chase and Adalyn Johnson, Ethan Rivard, George Tripp Wilson III, and Rebecca Grace Wilson; and a son-in-law, Rod Johnson of Indianapolis, Indiana. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Terrie Johnson; and a grandson, Aaron. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, May 22, at Westminster Presbyterian Church, with Rev. Larry Duncan officiating. Entombment will follow at Lakeview Memorial Park.
