David Dewey Hinchman, age 72, of Ivel, husband of Norma Lou James Hinchman, passed away Tuesday, May 29, 2012, at Highlands Regional Medical Center, in Prestonsburg.
He was born March 7, 1940, at Tram, a son of the late Virgil and Georgia Layne Hinchman. He was a retired school teacher and principal for the Floyd County School System, being head teacher at Prater Elementary and eighth-grade teacher at Harold Elementary, as well as principal at Harold Elementary for eight years. He was also a U.S. Army Veteran.
In addition to his wife, Norman, he is survived by one son, William David (Tillie) Hinchman, of Ivel; one brother, Joe Hinchman, of Lexington; two sisters, Bonita Porter and Pat DeRossett, both of Allen; and one grandson, James David Hinchman.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Clyde O. Hinchman and Herbert Hinchman.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m., Friday, June 1, in the Hall Funeral Home Chapel, with Tracy Patton officiating. Burial will follow in the Davidson Memorial Gardens, at Ivel.
