Tony Hunter, 70, of Ivel, husband of Lyda Charlene Collins Hunter, died Monday, June 25, 2012, at Pikeville Medical Center.

Born Feb. 2, 1942, in Prestonsburg, to the late Aster Sr. and Amma Mae Blackburn Hunter, he was a retired coal miner and a member of the Benedict Baptist Church, at Slick Rock, in Prestonsburg.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a brother, Aster Hunter Jr., of Prestonsburg; six sisters, Norma Hamilton, Ollie Faye Collins, Shirley Blair, Loretta Hunter, Esther Blair and Brenda Auxier, all of Prestonsburg; and eight nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Marvin Thomas Hunter and David Arnold Hunter.

Funeral services for Tony Hunter will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, June 29, at Nelson Frazier Funeral Home, in Martin, with Bill Collins officiating. Burial will follow in the Hunter Cemetery, at Cow Creek, in Prestonsburg.

Visitation will be held after 6 p.m., Wednesday, and all day Thursday, at the funeral home.
