Alex Wade Mullins, 18, of Melvin, died Friday, July 5, 2012, at Holston Valley Medical Center, in Kingsport, Tenn.

He was born March 11, 1994, to Preston Mullins, of Melvin, and the late Alicia Keens Caudill.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Ruth Hall Keens.

He is survived by his grandparents, Buck (Renae) Keens, of Melvin, and Jerry and Jenny Mullins, of Melvin; brothers and sister, Byron Caudill, Chase Caudill, Zachary Ward and Dizirae Caudill, all of Melvin, and Dakein and Devon Caudill, both of North Carolina; brothers and sisters, Noah Mullins, Beth Mullins, Ashely Mullins, Emily Mullins and Leslie Mullins, all of Melvin; and special aunts and uncle, Anita, Brenda, Shella, Tracy and Tony.

Funeral services were held Monday, July 9, at Joppa Old Regular Baptist Church, at Melvin. Burial followed the service at Keens Family Cemetery, at Melvin.

Nelson Frazier Funeral Home, of Martin, was in charge of arrangements.
