Troy Owens, 70, of Blue River, died Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2013, at Highlands Regional Medical Center.

He was born Feb. 4, 1943, in Floyd County, to the late Butler and Ina Webb Owens. He was the husband of Ruby Bradford Owens, and a retired maintenance worker for Island Creek Coal Co.

He was preceded in death by brothers and sisters, Bill Henry Owens, Odis Owens, James Roy Owens, Ralph Owens, Ada Marie Owens, Mable Hackworth and Elsie Rahrig.

He is survived by two sons, Tommy Owens and Randy Owens, both of Blue River; a daughter, Tammy Robinson, of Prestonsburg; a sister, Brenda Shepherd, of David; six grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Thursday, Feb. 28, at Nelson Frazier Funeral Home, in Martin, with Demmie Marshall officiating. Burial followed the service in the Webb Family Cemetery, at David.
