Rosie Lee McCoy, age 59, of Prestonsburg, wife of James McCoy, passed away Sunday, March 3, 2013, at Pikeville Medical Center.
She was born April 16, 1953, in Stanford, a daughter of Emma Brown King and the late James King. She was a homemaker and a member of the Cow Creek Freewill Baptist Church.
Rosie is survived by her husband, James McCoy, of Prestonsburg; mother, Emma Brown King, of Stanford; a son, Zachary D. McCoy, of Prestonsburg; six brothers, James “Buddy” King, of Berea, and Stevie King, Ricky King, Marvin King Bobby King, and Johnny King, all of McKinney; two sisters, Dora Sherbert, of Lexington, and Virginia Gordon, of Stanford; and a grandson, Ryder McCoy.
In addition to her father, Rosie was preceded in death by two sisters, Wanda Scott and Teresa Griffin.
Funeral services for Rosie Lee McCoy will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, March 7, at the Cow Creek Freewill Baptist Church, in Prestonsburg, with Nathan Lafferty officiating. Burial will follow in the Gethsemane Gardens, in Prestonsburg. Visitation will be held after 2 p.m. Tuesday at the church.
