James Tackett, 41, of Galveston, husband of Jamie Lena Brown Tackett, died March 14, 2013, at Teaberry.

Born June 29, 1971, in Pikeville, to Eugene and Brenda Wilhite Tackett, he was a construction worker. He was the grandson of Bennie Tackett, of Galveston, and the late Sola Hall Tackett, and Edith Wilhite, of McDowell, and the late Howard Wilhite.

He is survived by three sons, Brady Hall, of Harold, and Jesse James Tackett and Frank Hall Tackett, both of Galveston; a sister, Twana Tackett, of Galveston; a granddaughter, Braylei Dalton Hall; and a host of many family and friends.

Funeral services for James Tackett were held Monday, March 18, at Pilgrims’ Home Old Regular Baptist Church, at Galveston, with Old Regular Baptist ministers officiating. Burial followed in the Robert Hall Cemetery, at Galveston.

Nelson Frazier Funeral Home, of Martin, was in charge of arrangements.
